Personal Biography

M. Thomas Propes is a fourth generation Church of God member, who accepted the call to ministry in 1975. He has served the Church of God as Minister of Youth and Music, State Evangelist, Pastor, District Overseer, State Overseer and General Department Director. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Education from Lee College and a Master of Religious Education degree from Trinity Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to South Carolina in August 2006, he and his family lived in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he served as General Director of Publications for the Church of God. His wife, LaQuita Joy (Perkins) Propes, a registered Dental Hygienist, served with him as the State Women’s Ministries President during his tenures as overseer. The Propes have two children: son, Matthew Thomas and his wife Jennifer, and daughter, Summer Joy, who is a 12th grade special needs student. Matthew serves as the Youth & Christian Education Director for the Midlands Region and Jennifer serves along with him as Girls Clubs Coordinator.
